None of us wants to think we might be harboring any unreal expectations. Most of us also think of ourselves as really good drivers, too, don't we? Well, no one is immune to blind spots, so let's take a look at what might happen so that you can at least mentally deal with it and get on with things.

Let's face it: Murphy's crashed a few weddings. However, when we face possibilities before they happen, something wonderful happens: They don't have the advantage of surprise!

What are a few of the things that we would rather not have happen? I offer a few. You can think of others, I'm sure.

1. A cute little 2-year-old nephew might refuse to behave like an adult. Imagine that!

2. An habitually late family or wedding party member who - guess what? - arrives late in spite of threats, cajoling or even bribery.

3. Someone knows better than anyone, including you, how things should be… then starts taking over.

(I know reading this isn't as fun as getting married, but it's less fun when we're not prepared for Mr. Murphy.)
