It's fun to see your photos published, especially when it's a cover for a magazine read by international subscribers! Some really fun shoots were ones where I was told the theme and then left on my own to come up with a photo that would work well with it.
An author came into my studio and said her publisher wanted a portrait for her book jacket. Great! Of course, we did the plain vanilla routine but we also did something a little out-of-the-box. You'll see it in the slide show, above. She sent me a copy of the book and, what a neat surprise for us both: her publisher liked the one you see so much that it got the whole backside of the book jacket! (The usual is just a few square inches.)
Another really fun session was doing the cover for the author of The Time Traveler in Old Colorado. To appreciate what it took to pull this one off, I'd have to bore you by telling you the limitations of doing things back in the primitive "Film Age" days, where you had to do this kind of magic in the camera and darkroom - not in the photo-editor.
